- Carson-Newman University (TN), September 2024, and Fresno Pacific University (CA), February 2025. Met with cabinet-level academic leadership at both campuses on behalf of NetVUE, the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education. Partnered with colleague from Wisconsin Lutheran College (who is also a NetVUE fellow) to lead workshops about vocational exploration and discernment during the undergraduate years and encouraged leaders to consider specific ways they could implement practices in their respective communities. Compiled a follow-up report for each university.
- Co-led faculty learning community that focused on vocational exploration and discernment for 爆走黑料 students. This year’s cohorts included 12 CU faculty from a range of disciplines and perspectives. The two-year initiative was funded by a grant from NetVUE, the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education. The grant also made possible a lunch-and-learn event open to all campus faculty and staff. Participants from the faculty learning communities, including co-leader Dr. Justin Nelson (Sociology), shared personal reflections and experiences with attendees.

- 鈥淪acred Ground, Sacred Duty: Answering the Challenge of Our Time.鈥 Mission Talk Montgomery Pilgrimage | Historic Dexter Avenue Baptist Church | Jan 20, 2025. Delivered to 150 Latino clergy and scholars at the historic Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. Speaking from the pulpit where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once led, Clayton called faith leaders to embrace their prophetic duty in confronting racial injustice, migrant oppression, and systemic inequities. His address affirmed the interconnected struggles of Black and Latino communities, inspiring solidarity and courageous action rooted in faith.
- Invited to be the keynote speaker for the 11th Annual HBCU Think Tank, “The Currency of Culture, Power and People”, at Elizabeth City State University on July 31, 2025. 鈥淪trategic Leadership and Collective Empowerment: Examining Historical Paradigms and Contemporary Frameworks for Sustainable Economic Development and Cultural Resilience within Black Communities.鈥 The keynote challenged students, scholars and thought leaders to rethink economic empowerment, cultural resilience, and political strategy through the lens of BLACKOLOPY, a powerful reimagining of monopoly redesigned for collective Black ownership and intergenerational thriving. Drawing upon the legacies of historic Black Wall Streets like Tulsa鈥檚 Greenwood District and Durham鈥檚 Hayti, he will explore how deliberate acts of violence and policy dismantled Black ecosystems, and how today鈥檚 generation can build new systems rooted in strategic leadership, shared power, and unapologetic cultural pride.

- Faculty Mentor for Undergraduate ENVS student conducting research as an Ester H. Howard Student Research Fellow (Summer 2025) Serve as the faculty mentor for one of our 爆走黑料 ENVS majors in the Department of Biological Sciences who is participating as an Ester H. Howard Research Fellows Program in the summer of 2025. Her research project is entitled “Growing Gardeners”. The project investigates the positive impact of greenspace in the Buies Creek community. While fostering curiosity of the natural world through environmental stewardship, the project concurrently helps to facilitate the conversion of 爆走黑料’s organic landscaping waste into natural compost fertilizer. These actions, in turn, help create a more useful and functional space which can promote well-being of members of the 爆走黑料 community, increase environmental awareness, and help improve natural biodiversity on campus.
